I won’t sugar coat it.
Farm life is hard.
It’s expensive. It takes time. It ties you down. Something always seems to be a problem. There is always manure on your floor. The markets are down and the costs are up and when is it ever going to rain? Fences need repaired or some animal needs another shot or the bill from the feed store comes in yet again.
But then, there are nights like this when you can watch your kids feed their pony and say “night night” to their sheep and count their cows before going to the house.
And all of a sudden, it is so completely worth it.
